Company description:: The Minister for Finance, Charlie McCreevy, today launched a new online accountancy portal for Ireland’s accounting and business professionals. The portal, www.accountingnet.ie, offers access to a wealth of accounting and tax information and services including news, legislation, technical information, events, books and business software.
Speaking at the launch Minister McCreevy paid compliment to this new venture and recent online developments in the sector. He also commented on “the paramount importance that accountants and other professionals have the avenue to learn wherever they are located and keep abreast of the latest in their functional domain. I hope this initiative will assist in making that possible"
Accountingnet.ie was developed by a new Tralee based company, which was set up in 2003 by accountant Sean Heaphy and development engineer Kevin Heaphy. This venture now positions them as a unique service provider in the sector and are primed for further growth.
Sean Heaphy, Managing Director, said the launch of the new portal was a very exciting time for both accountants & tax professionals.
"We have conducted extensive research into the needs of Irish accountants & business professionals and analysed developing industry trends. Practitioners have told us what they need and we believe the core elements of our new business site deliver on these. We also have a comprehensive development plan in place which includes recruitment and online training modules and we believe this will take the portal to the next level and beyond." Mr Heaphy said.
Speaking at the portal launch Jimmy Deenihan TD said, “This site is an excellent example of how online initiatives can be developed by small regional business and I would call for greater support to be given to this sector and the entrepreneurial culture“
